Carolina Escalante-Roy

Originally from Rhode Island, Carolina was always drawn to the visual arts while attending high school at St. Mary Academy, Bay View. Carolina then attended the University of New Haven and earned a bachelor’s degree in interior design.

Carolina is fluent in both English and Spanish which adds to her creative ability to multi-task and network. She coordinates the team's schedules and assists clients with making selections on plumbing fixtures, electrical fixtures, tile, and appliances to name a few. She also manages suppliers, designers, and architects throughout each project and is a company liaison for obtaining building permits and Town or City inspections.

Carolina worked for 4 years at an interior design showroom in downtown Hartford, CT where she developed her skills of specifying textiles, floor coverings, wall coverings, lighting, plumbing, furniture, and many other accessories for various custom projects. 

She also worked for 11 years at a custom home builder in Farmington, CT prior to joining the Heartwood Renovation team. Her duties at her previous job included estimating and creating project bid proposals, managing project costs, and managing project schedules. Her favorite job task has always been assisting clients with making selections, and she specializes in communication between clients, the Heartwood team, and contractors / vendors.

Throughout her professional career she has developed many long-lasting relationships with vendors, contractors, architects, engineers, and various town officials in addition to prior and recurring clients.

She now lives in Simsbury, CT with her husband, two daughters, and dog. She enjoys spending time with family, volunteering at her children's school as a class parent and member of the PTO and various sporting organizations.
